How to cut your loaf
Step 1: cut your loaf down the middle
Step 2: place your loaf cut side down on the cutting board
Step 3: cut from the far right end & cut slices working toward the inside right to left.
Now you have perfect slices that will easily fit in your toaster. Or opt to slice full slices by continuing to cut full length slices from your first half cut.
How to reheat your loaf
Sourdough bread reheats differently than store bought, especially when made with whole grains. The secret to reheating your slices so they are like fresh baked is water.
Spray both sides of your slice with water or pour a small amount over the slice before placing it in your oven, toaster oven, or air fryer to toast. Sounds crazy but it really does come out crispy and just like fresh baked!
How to store your loaf
Fresh sourdough bread made with whole wheat grains does not last as long as grocery store bread that has preservatives. Inside your bread bag there is a clay moisture absorber. This should help keep down unwanted moisture build up leading to molding.
Not sure you can finish a whole loaf?
Cut your remaining loaf in to slices and wrap in plastic wrap. Next, place them in a freezer bag then into the freezer. If wrapped well they can last several months. Just pull out a slice and place in the oven to toast.
